Confessions of an insomniac

I am a self diagnosed insomniac who just took melatonin and it didn't work so...

Between running an 2 Etsy shops and going to school full time I pretty much have no time to myself. I literally did homework for 12 hours today and I am still not done with my work for that class for the week. I am pretty content with it though considering that I don't have to leave my house, and being the introvert that I am, I like taking classes online.
Mandala I drew on a friends chalk board wall.
I have managed to spend some time out with friends though. Our little gang is pretty closely knit and we try to get in the habit of meeting with each other at least one night a week. I also managed to finish all of Carnivale this week as well. Don't ask me when or how, because I am not even sure when I found time for it.

Me (keft), Katie (right),
There are a bunch of new items in the shop for Halloween. Although I am excited for my shop this holiday season, surprisingly I am not as excited for my favorite holiday this year as I am every year. I have been a little down in the dumps lately. Mostly because I don't get enough time for myself and because my brain is always so fried from hours of Economics which I find particularly difficult despite my efforts. I guess I am just not in the mood to go to the annual Halloween party that I attend. Maybe I should consider starting a new tradition instead.

The good news is that I have a 4.0 GPA which means I have all A's. I am pretty damn proud of myself. Also this little baby is growing up so fast! He is five months now.

Chris and I came to the mutual decision recently to get married. So I am engaged. Calling him fiance instead of boyfriend is going to be a hard habit to break after being together for almost 7 years. Congratulations to us! We decided to get married March 1, 2015.

Well I suppose I should try to go to sleep again. Anyone else have trouble sleeping? What do you do to try to help you sleep?

Currently...

Holy shit that was a huge moth!

Making:

My great friend Amanda had her second child this past week. A boy named Logan and her second child. I am a little late on crafting this baby blanket but better than never! I went to see her while she was in the hospital and again this past Monday. I reminded me about how much I love to crochet and also that I still have a soft spot for babies, even though I claim to hate children.

I really only included this foto because I came across it today and I thought it was really funny. What is "mind bottling," you like like when your so confused, like your mind is trapped inside a bottle... is there are people out there that actually think like this and teach their children these things still! Be weary! It could be closer to home than you think!

Anticipating:
HALLOWEEN! I love all hallows eve! It's my favorite holiday and I am super excited because I am going to be Wednesday Adams this year!

Learning:

Since I got Harold here I have been learning an awful lot this past week about the Sulcata Tortoise and how to take care of him. I think he is doing really well so far adjusting to him new home!

Reading:

Unclean Jobs for Women and Girls It's a collection of short stories. Morbid and wacky and out there. Pretty much right up my alley.

Wearing:

This guy. Since I brought Harold home he has been super jelly and he won't leave me alone. He constantly seeks my attention. It's very humorous because Chichi here didn't even do this when we brought the cat home. I think he is just mad because the Tortoise needs so much care and he can't play with him like he could with the cat!

Feeling:

I feel pretty amiss lately. Just when I thought my insomnia was going away and I was regaining a normal/semi normal sleep schedule again it has crept back up on me. I am not even sure what the cause of it is. Perhaps I just feel like there is so much to do. This here is a very somber picture of the sun rising out my window. As you can see it totally encompasses how I have been feeling on my sleepless nights.

Watching:

While I can't sleep, I keep my self preoccupied with The Wonder Years until I finally drift off into dream land. It's nice to rewatch something that I was introduced to at such an early age. I feel like there are some episodes that I remember, even though it was a long time since I've watched this show. I guess I just keep watching it because of my love of Kevin Arnold and the Super Cooper. I just love their little drama. Not to mention Kevin was a total cutie was he was little, boy was I crushing him when I was 7 years old!

Well that is about all that has been going on with me lately! I hope you enjoyed my currently post!

Halloween Make-Up Success!!!!

Google The Halloween Party I went to the other night was a great success! It was a blast! I actually ended up doing two other girls' make up for the even as well. As promised here are the pictures of my ideas coming together (see last post)!

The lovely Katie, she wanted Sugar Skull/like make up. Her's was done last minute right after she got out of work!
Pretty Miss Kahleigh... well she just told me she wanted to look DEAD!
I wanted to be a vampire. It is one of my favorite things to be for Halloween. I love how pale I look!
I wore this necklace:

I got my shirt at Cotton On, I wore skinny black jeans and my Doc Marten Triumphs!

I probably drank a little more than I should have but didn't have a hang over the next day so that was a plus!

I want to thank MissChievous for her awesome Vampire make up tutorial that I watched prior to doing my make up! It really helped and I got so many compliments! She has some really great Halloween costume make up ideas and help videos! Here is the one that I watched that really helped me:

Halloween Costume Ideas

Google I am going to a Halloween party tonight. I haven't gotten my costume yet but I've been check Pinterest to get some costume ideas. I think I have a plan. The plan is to go as a bloodied up nurse vampire. Or just a vampire. Depending on the nurse costumes I try on today at the Halloween store, if I like them or not, I may or may not buy one. I may just go in regular street clothes and combat boots. Here is how I will be doing my make up: Lips:
Eyes:
I did my nails like this last night:
These blood splatter nails have been floating around for the holiday and I had to try them. This picture was before I cleaned them up. I have to say they look really cool now! And this is how I want to do my hair. I'm not quite sure if it is long enough yet but I will try it out!
If it isn't long enough I will probably just braid it, flat iron the braids, spray them with hair spray, take the braids out and then tease it so I have some messy waves. Then I'm definitely going to grab some high quality vampire teeth and some fake blood. The vampire teeth you mold to your teeth and the fake blood I'll apply drips to my chin and two bite marks on my neck. I will probably put some on my hands and going up my arms as well. I will have to post some pictures to show how it all came out! Happy Halloween! xo Michelle
