48 Hour Update!

I never meant for it to work out this way but I have been updating regarding my creations or what I have been up to about every 48 hours! I set the Featured Artists (daily) in motion and so far it has been very exciting. I have to say that I was not expecting anyone I chose to fill out the interview form that quickly! I was surprised about the successful turn out. The posts so far have also been successful. The first interviewees were all very excited to be a part of the blog and for that I am thankful! Soon the Daily Featured Artist will have it's very own section on the blog. All the artists are hand pick by myself of course because I find interest in their work and want to share that with others. I'm very excited about this new endeavor.

Last night I set out to make a few more bottle cap earrings. It took me about an hour to make three! They do take a while but the end result is totally worth it! The pictures here are some of the ones that I have created so far. If you would like view more pictures please click on the link below the picture of which one you are interested in.

The creation process is fairly simple and they are fun to make. Luckily for me I have a nice steady supply of bottle caps from two restaurants. I think that bottle cap earrings will be an on going creative experiment for me!

All in all I had a pretty great day off from work and I look forward to posting tomorrow's Daily Featured Artist!

Kristi and her two daughters have high aspirations for their passionate work and some great designs to go with it! Check out their shop and what Kristi had to say about turning their new found craft into an exciting family business!

I have been a stay-at -home mom for fifteen years and have loved every minute of it! I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."

New Creations, New Ideas!

More Info

Here are a few of my new creations from the last 48 hours. I just got them listed today because work has been taking up so much of my time. I have decided that I need to try to make more bracelets as well. Although I do have some bracelets made that I have not listed yet. I find it very difficult to take good pictures of bracelets than any other piece of jewelry. You're probably thinking "Why don't you just put it on your wrist and snap a picture?" But my camera can't really be held with one hand...

I was going through etsy.com today and found a bunch of neat shops! Some of them I would love to showcase here as well. I will have to come up with a set of interview questions first! But I really think that would be a great direction for this blog to take.

Supplies and Results!

The other day my friend and I went to Michaels because I needed to re-up on some supplies. I was running dangerously low of a lot of things. Not to mention a trip to the craft store is always sure to inspire me. Surely this trip was no different. Although I have decided to look else where for beads, other than Michael because I believe the selection there has become incredibly poor. It's not that they don't have a wide selection, I just feel that everything is incredibly mediocre for the ideas I have floating around in my brain. After about an hour and a half of scouring and $113.00 spent I had a pretty sweet lot picked out.

I was feeling the craft flower for about 48 hours straight and while at the store I was itching to get home and play with my new things. Shrinky Dinks being among them. Although I haven't figured out the nature of shrink plastic yet completely I feel confident that I can make some really interesting pieces in the future. Which means I'll be investing in a printer. Now I know I had a printer, once upon a time, but I'm not sure what I did with it. I must have sold it during one of my moves. I will have to replace it as soon as I can because I'm really excited to start on those projects as well!

These pictures are just a few of the many items I have created this week. All of which you can purchase in my etsy store. I honestly cannot believe how productive and motivated I have been! Let me know what you think! Keeping my hands busy with these accomplishments has made me feel great! I feel like I'm on craft crack because I just want to stay at home and make more and more and not do anything else. Do you ever feel like that?

Halloween Earrings!

Black Bat Earrings with Silver Hearts and Rhinestones
These bats were my first adventure with shrink plastic. I always thought the idea would be really neat to play around with so I did some experimenting and this was my final project and I absolutely fell in love with them. I would wear them myself this Halloween season if my ears weren't gauge, alas, my holes are too big.

They are adorable and shiny! The bat and the heart are made out of shrink plastic. The heart is colored in with colored pencil embellished with a clear rhinestone. They were really hard to take pictures of and the pictures do not do them any justice!
You can purchase these earrings here.
