Book Review: State of Fear by Michael Crichton

State of FearState of Fear by Michael Crichton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Although a little lengthy I still enjoyed this book. Crichton's books are always quick page turners for me. This one was about the same, maybe a little bit less than others that I have read because of all the graphs. I am not someone who is particularly interested in climate change and have never developed an opinion regarding the matter anyhow. So some of the book's content was a bit uninteresting to me, but I still held on for the story line and I am glad that I did. At the end of the book Crichton delivers an essay with the mention of eugenics which I enjoyed.

I also noticed other reviewers gave low stars due to Crichton's inability to deliver whole factual information in the book. Well, regarding that, I do not believe that this book is the first time that partial factual information has been used in science fiction before. Usually writers will take parts of science that they find interesting or suit the storyline in order to develop it. Crichton is no different here.
