What you like to go by: Krystle

When did you start your shop? Shortly before my second daughter was born. I was on semi-bed rest at the end of the pregnancy, so I had dug around in my craft supplies to find something to do and ended up making dozens of pairs of earrings. Since her delivery two years ago, I've slowly been expanding my design horizons to include other jewelry pieces that incorporate beads, resin, and other fun elements.

Is this your only job? During the spring and summer, I sell my jewelry at the local farmers market, so much of

the winter is spent in preparation for that, as well as local holiday shows in the late fall. I have three shows coming in the next few weeks so I am busy getting ready! My real full time job is raising my lovely girls and adoring my husband. I also sing and perform around town, and I play guitar at church on the music team regularly.

When did you realize you had this talent? My mom was a serial craftoholic and passed that on to me! We always had gobs of craft supplies of all kinds around when I was a kid, I think I learned to sew and crochet at 6 years old, so creativity has always been a part of my life. In fact, many of my past hobbies have come in handy lately...I'm into photography, so I get to put my equipment to good use making listing photos, and I love to scrapbook, so I use my Cricut machine to make my tags and earring display cards

Where do you find your inspiration? Color is really inspiring for me. I tend to find a fresh color combination and stick on it for awhile..... that's why you will see plenty of mustard yellow and gunmetal gray in the shop right now.

Who has been the most supportive of your work?
First, my husband. He steps up to the plate whenever I hit crunch time, (like right now!) and picks up whatever slack I leave. My family is really great, my Mom tatts as well, and my sister is a big fan....she buys my jewelry as gifts all the time.

What is one thing you would like to accomplish that you haven't yet? I'd like to really be on top of seasonal planning. I never feel inspired to make snowflake jewelry until it's pretty much snowing outside, when I really should have been making them in august. Better retail focus is in order :-)

What are your words to live by or favorite quote?
Psalm 117:6 "Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you." That's the truth for my life. I

am so blesssed, and when I finally slow down and realize that, everything starts to make sense again.

Excerpt from Profile:

I had a lost memory of a simple white tatted edging that my mother made when I was young, and that memory was sparked when I happened upon a tatting shuttle in a local craft store. After learning how to make tatted lace, It became my craft of choice. I sew, knit, scrapbook, do calligraphy, and enjoy photography, but something about the charming old art has me captured.

I strive to move the art forward by creating pieces that are modern and exciting. I also love incorporating other elements into my tatting , like resin and crystals and beads. My design process usually starts with a simple idea, but many pieces simply flow from my tatting shuttles as I sit and create. I am often produce one of a kind pieces, because I enjoy the process of watching something new unfold as I go.
