Trip to Sephora!

I made some time to shop at Sephora last weekend and was it worth it! It was my first time. I had been inside a Sephora before but I had never purchased anything. I am glad I went back. Check out what I got!

 Naked Skin by Urban Decay. This color is called Naked Light. Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder. Luminous Finish. It's very silky if used very lightly. I apply it with a powder brush after my usual foundation regimen. The box says it's invisible and flawless and I can say that it is! I really love this finishing powder! I think I am addicted! Not a bad deal for 34$.

 Stila, In the Light Eye Shadow Palette. I have been looking for a brown palette for a while. I was going to buy the Naked 2 Palette by Urban Decay but the Sephora store was out at the time I was there. I found this palette and saw that the colors were very close, and/or that I liked these colors even more. This palette is perfect for the summer. Gold, Bronze and Brown eye shadows for matching bronze skin. I can't wait till I am tan enough to apply bronzer as well! The best thing about this palette is that it comes with a brown smudge stick eye liner. Which I need as well! 39$.

 Intergalactic Moon Dust by Urban Decay. I love this stuff! It's a light shimmer that is easy to apply and perfect for when you don't feel like you want to use a lot of make up. If used on top of a deep purple shadow it really makes it pop with the sparkles. I have been using this on my crease, with silver on my lids and white on my brows. I will have to post a picture of it soon! This is a great shadow if you love shimmer! 20$.

Cuff (silver) and Woodstock (pink)24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil. 20$ each. These eye liners are so smooth and easy to apply. They also stay where you put them! Even after a 14 hour work night bar tending. I feel like the Cuff pairs perfect with the Intergalactic Moon Dust Shadow and the Woodstock is perfect for lower liner with a smokey eye look. Both will make your eyes pop!

17 Pretty Colored Hair Photos!

GoogleBecause of work I am not really able to color my hair or do anything with it that I would like. I have to look professional and unfortunately crazy colors are not a part of that. Although I wish it were! So instead I have to live vicariously through others that have amazing colors in their hair that I wish I could do myself! If I want to make rent I really can't just quit my job and say to hell with it and color my hair. Since I am a "responsible adult". My hair is also very dark and hard to dye anyway, so I guess it works out for the better because I think if I tried some of these hair colors I wouldn't have any hair left, it would all fall out or break off. Here are some images of some gorgeous colored hair!

Beauty Grab!

Here is my latest Beauty Grab! I haven't dyed my hair in a few months so it was time to pick up some dye. My hair is naturally a very dark brown color, almost black, but not dark enough for me. I am allergic to brown so I usually dye it black, blue black, or a black purple.  I used to buy this amazing color by Garnier Fructis but they discontinued it years ago and I have been searching for something like it ever since. I have tried the Bright Black 21 permanent hair color before and I love it and I usually only have to dye my hair 2-3 times a year unless I want to change it up. But what I had not seen or tried before is the Revlon 107 Violet Black permanent hair color. I am intrigue and cannot wait to try it. I am hoping that it comes out as gorgeous as the Garnier Fructis color that I can no longer get my hands on. If it doesn't I have my Bright Black to fall back on. I am debating if I should do a two tone color job with the Violet Black on the bottom and the Bright black on top. Or if I just should mix the two colors all over. Any advice?

I purchased a new set of tweezers because my eyebrows are getting bushy and out of control! I do like to grow them in every now and then so I can start over fresh and reshape them. I don't like when they get too thin and that can happen naturally with regular up keep! I will have to try these out and see how they are. Have you ever tried them? What do you think?

Lastly the lime green bow. The uniforms at my work are a bright green referee jersey. So I figured I would spruce it up a bit and make it a bit more femine with a bow in my messy bun up dos.

Interior Decoration Series Theme: Loving the Color Blue

I chose the color blue today because I truly believe that it is another color that is difficult to incorporate in the home. I chose a shade of cobalt that is particularly difficult! The color blue is strong, much like our last post where yellow was featured. In this post I will show you how to jazz up your home with another strong color that most people stay away from when decorating because it can be so intimidating. When in actuality blue is sensuous and relaxing. The color it self induces one to a calm and tranquil state. So here we go:

A vintage door knob can be used to accentuate. As well as other items in a hall way or foyer. When the majority of an area of the home is one color, it should be set off with 1 other color for a simplistic and stress free look. Notice how this image is contemporary yet lightyears away? Make your home a haven by falling in love with the creativity in which you adorn it with. 

Focal point. For starters the focal point should never be in the middle of the room. It should be off centered to an extent. Whether that extent be slight or extreme is up to you. This coffee table is a great example. The room with mostly earth tones with black storage. The coffee table is the focal point of the room. It really pops!

Blue Walls: Now this look is hard to achieve. Blue is royal. Blue is rich. It looks amazing with tan and white like seen in this picture but notice the quality of the furniture? I'll tell you one thing it isn't cheap! That fire place, even those white hard wood floors, this room probably cost a small fortune to decorate. If you are going to go blue it seems like you may have to go all the way!

Look how easy it is to show off your sultry side with a little blue in the kitchen? Be bold! Line the back of your white glass cabinets with contact or scrap booking paper! Or if you want something more permanent use paint!

Dark and light! Blue is one of few colors in which you can use different shades of the same color in the same room and the colors will still compliment each other. That is because even though all blues are blue, each shade seems to contain its very own identity. Do you see how the pattern of the wall paper seems complex but soft and the small table seems fragile and old yet sturdy?

DIY Friendship Bracelet from honestlywtf.com

For several months now, we’ve been receiving emails requesting a friendship bracelet DIY. Well, friends, ask and you shall receive! Today, we’ll give you a step by step tutorial on the classic chevron pattern. If you used to whip up friendship bracelets like a champ in grade school and have since forgotten how, consider this a refresher course. And if you can make these with your eyes closed and arms tied . . . umm, can we still be friends?

You’ll need:

• embroidery thread
• a safety pin or tape
• a pair of scissors

Start by cutting several strands of embroidery thread at about 24 inches each. Make sure there are two sets of each color. Combine the threads and tie a knot, leaving at least 3 inches of slack. Tape it to a flat surface or safety pin it to a pillow. Separate the two sets, arranging the strands in a mirror-image pattern with the outside strands the same color and so on moving inwards.

Start on the left side with the outermost color (shown here in red) and make a forward knot by creating a 4-shape over the 2nd color, loop it under and back through the opening.

Pull up and to the right to tighten. Make the same knot twice over each color. Continue knotting over each color, towards the right, until the outermost color has carried over to the middle. This is one half of the chevron pattern.

Now pick up the outermost color on the right side (show here in red) and make a backward knot, creating a reverse 4-shape over the 2nd color, loop it under and back through the opening. Pull up and to the left to tighten. Don’t forget to knot twice over each color!

Continue knotting towards the left until the outermost strand reaches the middle. Tie a backwards knot with the two middle strands to connect the two halves. Did you remember to knot twice? The first chevron row is complete! Continue with the the next color, which is now the outermost strand . . .

Remembering the color order is important for the first few rows but after the 3rd or 4th row, the strands will fall nicely in place. Finish it with a knot and a braid.

For a striped bracelet, cut one set of colors and simply carry the outermost color all the way through to the right side. For an assymetrical chevron, mix the colors when dividing them into 2 sets. Be sure to count the number of strands so you know when to stop in the middle each time. For an embellished bracelet, take a small piece of rhinestone chain, glue it to the top of the bracelet and stitch embroidery thread between each rhinestone with an embroidery needle.
