I wanted to kick off these series with the color yellow because I think it's a color that is difficult to incorporate in the home. Some would think it is too strong or too bright, but what I wanted to convey is that there are ways to incorporate yellow with out over saturating a room with it. So here we go!

A little yellow does go a long way. Notice here the mismatched patterns on the wall hanging and the coffee table! The wall hanging looks like it is a giant canvas which can be purchased at a craft store with fabric glued on. Sounds easy enough, match some throw pills and that is all you need to tie the room together.

Paint those frames before you hang them. Add two ottomans to the end of the bed for quick and easy storage or to help get dressed. The headboard itself is by Sarah Richards however I can bet with a intricate piece of plywood, some stuffing, fabric and a staple gun this could be a fun craft project for you and your mate!

Make a plain white bed room pop with yellow bedside lamps, a few yellow throw pillows and a vintage looking chair or ottoman. Again notice the use of the canvas on the wall. You can pick one of these up at any craft store! Use painters tape to make a straight line, paint 3/4 yellow and 1/4 white and you have yourself a piece of art!

Another easy trick to incorporate a little yellow in the home. Paint your staircase in yellow then use different stencils and rotate your way up the stairs in white or corresponding color to your interior, I think gray or turquoise would also look nice!

Love black and white? or do you just love zebra print? Add a little yellow to really make it pop!

What is better than a big red door? A big yellow door! Spray paint a vintage bench and you have yourself a bright and peppy entryway or foyer.

I love this idea for a little extra bathroom storage. Refinish vintage or purchase new. Goes great with white and gray or black and white!

You would think that a full yellow room would be a little overwhelming... but notice how the mismatch of patterns from the bedspread and the carpet really draw your attention away from the power of yellow. The mismatch of patterns really breaks up the yellow and makes it easier on the eyes. That dark greenish grey looks great with the hardwood floors as well!
Where to buy?
Target has this gorgeous bedset available with this fantastic geometric pattern! Remember to mix and match your patterns!
